Progress Stories

January 2007

A colony of seven cats has been stabilized through the caretaker practicing TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return). The caretaker has reported that the "queen" (aka baby-maker) had finally gained some weight and was starting to enjoy a life without endless kittens. The other males have stopped fighting as much and seem to be enjoying their lives as well taken care of ferals. February, 2007 The Milton Project begins utilitzing the Spay & Neuter Alliance and Clinic by sending 10 cats to be speutered from the Rincon area.

March 2007

The Milton Project continues to utilize the Spay & Neuter Alliance and Clinic for their spays and neuters.

April 2007

After trying multiple times to catch their ferals, a family contacted The Milton Project - after two trappings, the colony was completed. A follow up call from the caretakers reported all the cats had been friendlier and would now let family members pet them.

July 2007

After having several cats adopt their house - a couple contacted The Milton Project because their colony had grown to 18 cats. They had found a family friend that offered to have the majority of their colony relocated to their farm. The Milton Project will help trap, spay and neuter and then the caretaker will take them to their new home.

In 2007, we are getting a running start. The Spay/Neuter Alliance (SNAC) will be starting in early February. We are hopeful that the waiting list will be alleviated by the summer.

Goal for 2007: 400
